Thoresby (0)            82 ao

Caythorpe (4)          84-2

Due to the tractor incident this game was played on a damp uncovered pitch, although that does not excuse what was our worst performance of the season. In fact it was not even that good!!!!!!!.

So, really, the less said about the game the better.

The day’s real plus though was the meeting of an old friend, Big Ben Winslade,  who is now living in London (hope you are sledging those southern softies!!!! ). He had made a return visit to Thoresby with girlfriend Tanya ( who was later to star). In true Ben fashion the visit did not run smoothly, with a missed train and more importantly missed meal. Ben did make up for the latter by clearing what was left of tea.

He also managed a catch as sub fielder for Nige who had departed in search of diesel!

As the game finished early there was plenty of time to reminisce on Ben’s time at Thoresby and clear plenty of bar stock, Tanya and Billy being the star performers.

So Ben and Tanya returned to London with a promise of a return visit.

Cheers Ben it was great seeing you again.
